MFA Research (2023-26): the material and metaphorical study of walls leverages installation, performance, and film to explore a variety of themes: identity, othering, borders, institutions, brutalism, anarchy, eros.

Mediterranean Research (2021-2023): a multi-site research and installation project that regards walls as witnesses, rocks as storytellers, and masons as stewards. The work was primarily conducted in the Balearics, France, Italy, and Croatia.
Lithica, Menorca: geological makeup of rocks, post-industrial shifts in the extraction of labor, the integration of art in history
Dolmen of s'Aigua Dolca, Mallorca: boulders as figureheads, repurposing architecture, relaxation of the sacred, solidifying heritage
Pompei, Italy: exploration of the amphitheater speaking to the illusion of permanence in mortared walls, creation and decay, and walls as a witness. It was coupeld with a movement piece from the 'Gesture' series on the revival of pansexuality.
Matera, Italy: caverns and caves, humidity, privacy
Bokovo, Croatia: deconstruction, walls supporting nonhuman lifeforms (from lichen to centipedes)
Stonemasonry School in Brac, Croatia: retaining lineages of masonic knowledge, chiseling into the face of the mountain

The photographed piece is one of eight frames installed on site at Chateau Ravenoville in Normandy, France. It serves to bring focus to the castle wall - addressing modes of production, the taming of nature, exclusion, and enclosure.
In parallel is an in progress auto-ethnography on the three year research and installation series.

Installation: This retrospective installation at Beaux Arts de Paris explores the aesthetic of dysfunctional walls. The disconnected and decaying panels are constructed with reclaimed art junk and installed in Galerie Droite. The piece explores the relationship with l'autre (the other) and intentional conflates the fungability of materials.
Research: The original research for this work was conducted at Pompeii and looked at walls as a witness, the illusion of permanence, and the ‘mortar’ between creation and decay.
Movement: While in Pompeii, I performed a movement piece in the amphitheater as a response to a recent archeological dig that revealed the Roman culture of pansexuality.

While studying at Beaux Arts de Paris, I became fascinated with the state of the walls - ornately carved marble juxtaposed with wheat-pasted plaster. The photographed piece is installed in a graffiti-covered, trash-filled atrium of the ‘grand ecole’. While installing the piece, a board spontaneously fell, shifting the relationship between one and the other. Rather than repositioning, I retained this unexpected change.
Viewing notes: The structure was initially installed alongside a piece from the gate series with Laurie Anderson’s "Walking and Falling" playing on loop.
